Last of the 70s

Today we finally got rid of the last remaining evidence that this house was built in 1972.  The tub enclosure in the main bathroom had an impossibly ugly plastic shower curtain.

We now have a really nice glass shower door.

Lunch on the New Deck

Today we had lunch on our new deck.  It was 43 degrees, but sunny.

Finished Deck

Today Jeff finished the new deck.  We had originally planned to put benches in the two far corners, but he suggested a plant stand instead.  We really like what he did.

Snow and Ice

Yesterday we awoke to snow.

Today we have ice.

Unfortunately, the daphne took a hit.

Happy New Year!

Today we finally picked the one an only mandarin.  It looked nice, but it was a little sour.

There are buds coming on the lemon, but I'm not sure what they are.  There is some growth that may be below the graft.  I guess we'll just have to wait and see what we get.

Deck - End of Day Three

The basic deck is finished.  The steps and a corner plant stand are still to come.

As a bonus, we had Jeff's nineteen-year-old helper to dig out our asparagus bed.

Deck - End of Day Two

After Jeff removed the old deck, he had to rent a jackhammer to remove the concrete ramp at the back.  Then the base went in, with the help of Ben.
